On June 16, 2007 the Canadian Forces had a "Family Day" on the shores of Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John's NL. Part of the festivities included a demonstration by the CF SAR team. I was playing in a softball tournament in the area, and was lucky enough to catch this from the area of the ball field.
St. John's Fog Devils warmup prior to their final regular season game of the season. Their opponents were their expansion cousins, the Saint John Sea Dogs.
Featured in this video: Ilia Ejov, making a pretty decent save on Nicolas Bachand, as well as backup goalie Mark Whalen.
During a pregame ceremony at the 07-08 home opener, the St. John's Fog Devils retired former captain Scott Brophy's #12. Brophy was only with the team one year, and was captain for their inagural season ('05-'06)
Game four of the first round of the playoffs between the St. John's Fog Devils and Acadie-Bathurst Titans.
Here you have Matt Boland vs. Kyle McNeil (rounds one and two) as well as Chris Thorne vs. Cameron Critchlow.
Myself singing Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" at karaoke. Not too bad I guess.
Recorded at the Bella Vista... best karaoke in town!
(Thanks to Jonny Fever for the introduction... lol)
On February 2, 2007 the Quebec Remparts visited Mile One Centre to play the St. John's Fog Devils. In a game that saw the Fog Devils win by a score of 9-5, there were five fights within about nine seconds, late in the third period. This is fight number four of five. (I never recorded the first two)
Fog Devils #17 Tim Spencer
Remparts #24 Guillaume Veilleux
Here's a short video I made of some emergency vehicles in downtown St. John's. It's not much, but it's something. Hah. There wasn't much going on, as it was only a medical emergency. Next time there's a fire in the neighbourhood I'll make a better one.
The music is Crystal Method's "Keep Hope Alive"
While working on Melody Hill in Labrador, we had to take a helicopter to and from the survey grid. Here it is, coming in to pick us up on the edge of the lake.
This is the second time I've put this song up. It's still not perfect, but it's better than the first one. At least I've done it a few times now.
Recorded at karaoke at the Bella Vista, St. John's NL.
What the hell? I told a few people that I sang Thunderstruck and they wanted to hear, so here it is. This is only a second attempt at this song, though.
